The Wonder of Nature
“I forgot how big they are!”
This came from my excited husband, with a rapid series of texts featuring photos of a bald eagle. He was doing his weekly 80+ mile bike ride (yes, he is a bit nutty with distances, as that was a fairly light week), when he came to a screeching halt to observe the majestic bird only a short distance away. As my husband stared in awe, given the proximity, the eagle turned to look at him with a mix of boredom and “yes, I know, I’m stunning.”
I love that there are creatures and trees and flowers that can literally stop us in our tracks. There are a lot of new and exciting things being thrown our way all the time. Flashy gadgets! Mind-blowing innovations! We are like toddlers in a massive toy store. Isn’t it nice that we can still be impressed by nature?
I have since continued to look at the photos. The eagle really is incredible. What a joy that my husband could be out in the fresh air and stop to have that shared moment in time with such a creature. It’s the small moments like that to appreciate and keep you inspired.
